Message for World Youth Day 2026 - Pope Leo XIV Invites Young People to Take Courage in Christ

Pope Leo XIV has released his message for the 41st World Youth Day, inviting young people to reflect on the theme, “Take courage! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

World Youth Day will be celebrated in local churches on November 22, 2026, the Solemnity of Christ the King, as preparations continue for the next international gathering in Seoul, South Korea, from August 3 to 8, 2027.

Acknowledging the pressures, uncertainty and loneliness many young people experience, the Holy Father encourages them to find courage in their friendship with Jesus. Pope Leo invites young people to open their hearts to Christ and put their faith into action through generosity, care for those who are vulnerable and a commitment to peace.
